HC Deb 26 April 1995 vol 258 c551W
Mrs. Beckett

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will list the drugs available on the NHS for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. [19900]

Mr. Sackville

The national health service provides different types of treatment for Alzheimer's disease which may include tranquillisers, physiotherapy and educational activities.

There are, however, currently no licensed drugs available for the treatment of this serious condition, although the Medicines Control Agency is aware that the pharmaceutical industry has drugs under development.
