To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many pensions are currently being paid to war widows; and how many of these relate to service up to 30 September 1921. [20265]

§ Mr. Arbuthnot
As at 31 March 1995 the number of war widows pensions in payment was 48,405; of those, 1,643 have been awarded in respect of death due to service up to 30 September 1921.
