§ Mr. David DavisThe Argentines regularly promote their candidacy of Buenos Aires for the location for the Antarctic treaty secretariat. Several of the Antarctic treaty parties have raised the issue during bilateral talks on Antarctic issues. Specific aide memoires were delivered to the FCO by representatives of Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United States in December and January on this subject.
