§ Mr. RedwoodMy officials are expected to comply with Government-wide requirements for the preparation and publication of compliance cost assessments for all legislation with an impact on business. No Wales-only legislation affecting business and hence requiring a compliance cost assessment was brought forward in the first three months of this year.
§ Mr. SteenTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many rules and regulations he repealed in the first three months of 1995; and how many new rules and regulations were introduced in that period by way of statutory instruments, motions or orders. [19373]
§ Mr. RedwoodEleven regulations and orders were repealed in the first three months of 1995. In the same period, 78 regulations and orders were introduced, none of which placed a burden on business. Most of them related to NHS trusts, local government, the council tax, education and roads.
