HC Deb 18 April 1995 vol 258 c75W
Mr. McMaster

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the current uses of photo-identity passes by central and local government in Scotland; and if he will make a statement. [19007]

Mr. Lang

Photographic security passes which are issued by my Department to staff and other authorised personnel form part of the access control security procedures in place in the main Scottish Office buildings. In addition, photographic identity cards are issued to staff who, during the course of their official or statutory duties, may be required to identify themselves. Arrangements in local government are a matter for local authorities.
