HC Deb 18 April 1995 vol 258 cc72-3W
Mr. Maclennan

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received from Historic Scotland about window replacements proposed to listed buildings in Campbell street, Thurso, Breadalbane crescent, Wick and the Customs house, Helmsdale; and what response he has given. [18965]

Sir Hector Monro

It would not be appropriate to comment on the advice which Ministers received from their officials. I can, however, confirm that in respect of those listed buildings my right. hon. Friend has decided to call in for his own decision applications for listed building consent. The applicants and the councils may now decide whether they wish the application to be determined by a public local inquiry or by an exchange of written submissions and a site inspection.
