HC Deb 18 April 1995 vol 258 c86W
Mr. Cox

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what actions his Department will take against the organisation known as Combat 18; and if he will make a statement. [18580]

Mr. Maclean

The Government consider the activities of Combat 18, and any other group which advocates violence, reprehensible. I am satisfied that the police have the resources and powers they need effectively to respond to such groups. For instance, the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 made the offence of publication and distribution of material likely to incite racial hatred an arrestable one, and created an imprisonable offence of intentional racial harassment.
