Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) what is the total cost of procurement for the Trident system in(a) the current financial year and (b) the financial year 1995–96; and from which subheads of which votes this expenditure is taken; [18130]

(2) what is the total cost of running the strategic weapons system in (a) the current financial year and (b) the financial year 1995–96; and from which subheads of which votes this expenditure is taken; [18128]

(3) what is the total cost of construction in support of the Trident programme at Faslane and Coulport in (a) the current financial year and (b) the financial year 1995–96; and from which subheads of which votes this expenditure is taken. [18131]

3 This figure includes the cost of repairs, spares and technical, storage and engineering services provided by contractors and MOD at various locations in support of the UK's Polaris and Trident missiles.
