The amounts of revenue shown include NHS prescription charges paid by patients in respect of drugs and appliances dispensed by community pharmacists, dispensing doctors and appliance suppliers. NHS prescription charges recovered from patients under health board post-dispensing checking arrangements are also included.
The amounts shown do not include the sums collected in respect of the sales of pre-payment certificates which are not deemed to be the payment of a charge under the NHS (Charges for Drugs and Appliances) (Scotland) Regulations 1989, as amended.
