§ Mr. AtkinsMy Department is publishing the committee's interim report today. I am grateful to members of the committee for producing a useful and timely report. They have suggested a challenging set of recommendations for the inspectorate to improve further its capabilities as an efficient and effective organisation in the run-up to the creation of the Environment Agency. Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution has responded positively to the committee's views. I am today placing a copy of both the report and Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution substantive response to the recommendations in the Library of the House.
