HC Deb 05 April 1995 vol 257 cc1243-4W
Ms Janet Anderson

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department for what reasons Ms Phillipa Drew, director of custody, will leave her post later this year; and to what extent her departure relates to the transfer of Mr. Marriott, former governor of Parkhurst prison. [17214]

Mr. Michael Forsyth

Responsibility for this matter has been delegated to the Director General of the Prison Service, who has been asked to arrange for a reply to be given.

Letter from Derek Lewis to Ms Janet Anderson, dated 5 April 1995: The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Question about Miss Phillipa Drew's transfer within the Home Office. In line with plans developed last year this is a routine career development move for Miss Drew, who by the Summer will have spent three and a half years int he Prison Service. The move is entirely unrelated to any decision in respect of Mr. Marriott.
