To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will name the green Minister for her Department and list(a) the green initiatives taken by that Minister in respect of the Department's functions, (b) the representations made by the Minister in respect of functions carried out by other Departments and (c) the input made by the Minister into consultations on the Environment Bill. The green Minister for my Department is the Baroness Cumberledge, the Under-Secretary of State.

My Department is committed to sound environmental stewardship and its significant achievements over the past year are listed in paragraph 5.92 of the departmental report 1995, Cm 2812, copies of which are available in the Library.

My Department has contributed to the digest on green housekeeping in Government Departments which is being prepared for publication by the Department of the Environment.

The Government have recently published an account of its achievements in "This Common Inheritance 1995" Cm 2822.
