§ Mr. AtkinsExemptions from waste management licensing for the recovery of scrap metal are provided in the Waste Management licensing (Amendment etc.) Regulations 1995 which came into force on 1 April 1995. The effect of regulations 3(7) and (8) is to provide a six-month transitional period, to 1 October 1995, during which businesses may register exemptions. We have provided guidance on the regulations in DOE circular 6/95. Copies of the circular have been placed in the Library of the House.
