§ Mr. AtkinsMy right hon. Friend has no plans to introduce new proposals regarding increasing the use of canals. However the new chairman of British Waterways, Bernard Henderson CBE, has been asked to consider ways in which the use of canals for which he is responsible may be increased in the national interest, especially for leisure and tourism.
