Occupational Pension Schemes

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many(a) men and (b) women are currently members of an occupational pension scheme; and how many men aged 65 to 69 years and women aged 60 to 64 years are currently in receipt of an occupational pension.

The most recent figures available¹ show that in 1991 there were 6.8 million male and 3.9 million female active occupational scheme members². In the same year there were 0.92 million men aged 65 to 69 years and 0.39 million women aged 60 to 64 years in receipt of an occupational pension.
