§ Mr. FreemanAt 1 July 1994, the Ministry of Defence employed some 120,000 full-time equivalent civil servants, excluding casual staff and locally employed civilians overseas. Of this number, 114,000 were employed in the United Kingdom: the table below gives the number and percentage employed in each economic planning region.
