Letter from Derek Lewis to Ms Joan Ruddock, dated 24 October 1994:
The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Question about plans to increase the number of temporary allocation centres in prisons in England and Wales.Temporary allocation facilities are currently being provided at Risley prison because of population pressure in the North West. We 485W have no plans to provide such facilities at any other prisons in England and Wales.
