JonesIndependent research confirms that compulsory competitive tendering has reduced costs by an average of 7 per cent. and up to 13 per cent. for some services; has at least maintained and in about 25 per cent. of contracts improved the standards set for services, with clear performance targets and better monitoring of service delivery; and has led to improved work practices and management.
