HC Deb 17 October 1994 vol 248 c14W
Mr. Blunkett

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make it his policy that water companies should be required to indicate where disconnections have occurred in households in receipt of state support and to make public such disconnections; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Atkins

No. Where water companies disconnect a water supply to an inhabited house and do not restore the supply within 24 hours, they are already required, under the Water Industry Act 1991, to inform the local authority in whose area the house is situated.
