§ Mr. Gwilym JonesThe most comprehensive measure of income is gross domestic product. The latest available data are for 1992, when GDP per head in Wales was 86.1 per cent. of the United Kingdom figure. In 1979, it was 86.2 per cent. However, since 1985, GDP per capita in Wales has grown faster than in any part of the United Kingdom.
