To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what percentage of the less-favoured areas in England are designated as environmentally sensitive areas.

[holding answer 21 July 1994]: Thirty per cent. of the 1,897,800 hectares designated as less-favoured areas in England lies within the boundaries of currently designated English environmentally sensitive areas.
