HL Deb 12 October 1994 vol 557 c117WA
Earl Russell

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have any plans to up-rate the earnings disregard on income support, and when this disregard was last up-rated.

The Minister of State, Department of Social Security (Lord Mackay of Ardbrecknish)

The current earnings disregards in income support were introduced in 1988. They are kept under review but are not up-rated annually. There are no plans to increase the levels of the disregard.
