HC Deb 30 November 1994 vol 250 cc755-6W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what plans he has to ensure that all the accounts of the royal household funded from the public purse are audited by the National Audit Office.

Sir George Young

All public money administered by the royal household are fully and professionally audited. The majority relates to the Department of National Heritage grant-in-aid for property services in the English occupied royal palaces, which is audited by the National Audit Office. The remainder is civil list expenditure, which is audited by the Treasury under the Civil List Audit Act 1816. The Government have no plans to change these arrangements.
