§ Mr. RedmondTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will ensure that police authorities fully compensate police officers for any losses incurred as a result of changes in pay day arrangements.
§ Mr. MacleanIt is for a police authority, within the terms of regulation 46 of the Police Regulations, to fix the pay day for members of the police force. I am confident that if a police authority decided to change existing arrangements it would manage the process so as to ensure that police officers were not disadvantaged.
