To ask the Secretary of State for Education (1) what were the targets for the number of school inspections to be undertaken by Ofsted in(a) 1993–94 and (b) in the current school year; and if she will break the targets down for (i) primary schools, (ii) secondary schools, (iii) special schools and (iv) sixth-form colleges;

(2) how may (a) primary schools, (b) secondary schools, (c) special schools and (d) sixth-form colleges were inspected by Ofsted in (i) 1993–94 and (ii) in the current school year.
