§ Mr. NorrisMy Department deals with the United Kingdom national aviation security programme. Our responsibilities following the disaster have included thoroughly reviewing the programme and making substantial improvements to it in the light of what happened on 21 December 1988.
My Department also had responsibility through the air accidents investigation branch for conducting the technical investigation into the circumstances of the disaster.
