HC Deb 30 November 1994 vol 250 c741W
Mr. Tipping

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many and which local authorities have responded to the consultation paper, "Our Forests, the Way Ahead;" and how many and which local authorities have expressed reservations about the proposal to continue with the disposal of woodland and the loss of public access in these woodlands.

Sir Hector Monro

[holding answer 28 November 1994]: Four local authorities in Scotland have responded: Highland regional council, Kincardine and Deeside district council, Midlothian district council and Strathclyde regional council. Each of these local authorities has expressed reservations about the proposals for securing public access to woodlands sold by the Forestry Commission, although the sale of woodlands does not, of course, necessarily lead to a loss of public access.
