The information set out in the table is based upon returns from teacher education institutions detailing course costs for the years 1990–91 and 1991–92 and funding allocated to institutions by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council for teacher education in 1993–94. The figures include also an estimate of student support costs, assuming entitlement to full maintenance grant and loan at the "home" rates.
