§ Mr. Michael ForsythThe Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, on whose recommendations the Government's proposals are based, made no specific assessment although were aware of the controls on anabolic steroids in the European Union member states and in a number of other countries. We understand that in Spain, as currently in the United Kingdom, anabolic steroids are subject to the law governing medicines and may be supplied lawfully only on prescription.
