§ Mr. David ShawTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport pursuant to his answer of 21 November,Official Report, column 19, what arrangements he proposes for consulting the public on the proposed A2 Lydden-Dover improvement scheme; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. WattsI am pleased to announce that public consultation on this scheme will start at the end of this week with the local distribution of brochures describing the proposed improvement. Public exhibitions will be held on 9 and 10 December at Dover district council offices to give the public the opportunity of discussing the proposals with representatives of the Highways Agency and their consultants.
Those wishing to comment on the proposals are invited to write to the Highways Agency before the end of the consultation period on 3 February.
