§ Mr. FreemanThe United kingdom is in the forefront of international efforts to establish rules for the responsible use and transfer of antipersonnel land mines. Discussions have been held with a number of states, including the United States, Russia and Italy, in the context of the UN weaponry convention review conference and in respect of other initiatives. Our aim is to establish international arrangements which will command widespread respect and adherence.
