HC Deb 24 November 1994 vol 250 c260W
Ms Coffey

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what estimate he has made of the numbers of(a) cars and (b) lorries using (i) leaded petrol, (ii) unleaded petrol and (iii) diesel in (1) 1989–90, (2) 1990–91, (3) 1992–93 and (4) for the latest date information is available.

Mr. Norris

No estimates of the number of lorries using unleaded and leaded petrol are available. The number of petrol-fuelled lorries is very small—presently about 3,000 vehicles. They are usually small and account for less than 1 per cent. of petrol used.
