§ Mr. MilburnTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will provide an estimate for the value of fundholding allocations retained by general practitioner fundholders at the year end in each of the last four years by region.
§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonThe information requested relates to GP fundholder savings which are retained not by the fundholder at year end but by the health board on the fundholder's behalf to be used for the benefit of patients. These figures are available only for those years for which audited health board accounts have been completed. The audited accounts for 1993–94 have not yet been finalised but it is estimated that savings will be about 4 per cent.
