HC Deb 24 November 1994 vol 250 c337W
Mrs. Bridget Prentice

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how the Forestry Commission identifies the exact boundaries of the tracts of land it disposes of each year.

Sir Hector Monro

When the Forestry Commission sells an area of land it checks the boundaries on the ground against the original title deed map and a master map of its land holdings. The exact boundaries of the land are then plotted on the current Ordnance Survey map which becomes the title deed map for the sale.
