(2) what has been the total cost to public funds so far for consultations into the privatisation of Railtrack.
§ Mr. WattsIn the period up to 31 March 1994, the Department spent about £16.5 million on external consultancy costs on the whole rail privatisation programme. Planned expenditure in 1994–95 is £12 million. It is not possible to disaggregate the costs attributable to advice on Railtrack matters.
