HC Deb 03 November 1994 vol 248 c1271W
Mr. Milburn

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to her answer of 24 October,Official Report, column 449, if she will itemise, by family health service authority, the number of patients removed from general practitioner's lists during each of the last five years.

Mr. Malone

Information for all family health services authorities is available only for the year 1992–93 and will be placed in the Library. Data for 1993–94 are being collected. General practitioners have always had the right, subject to necessary safeguards, to remove patients from their list without giving a reason. Patients also have the right to withdraw from a doctor's list without giving reasons.
