To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he has to visit the Cheshire probation service to discuss crime prevention; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. and learned Friend has no immediate plans to visit the Cheshire probation service.

Mr. Bennett

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he next intends to visit police cells in Greater Manchester to discuss the number of remand and convicted prisoners being held therein.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

There are no plans to do so.
