HC Deb 03 November 1994 vol 248 c1321W
Mr. Salmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans there are for extending licensing laws to allow shops to sell alcohol on a Sunday.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

Provisions permitting off-sale premises in Scotland to sell alcoholic liquor on Sundays between 12.30 pm and 10 pm are contained in section 22 of the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994. An announcement about commencement of the provisions will be made shortly.
