HC Deb 03 November 1994 vol 248 c1328W
Mr. Morgan

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales, pursuant to his answer of 17 October,Official Report, column 80, what assessment the director of the Welsh Office health department made of the report on the implementation of fire prevention works at Cardiff Royal infirmary in the course of discussions with South Glamorgan health authority.

Mr. Redwood

The report confirmed the health authority's previous assessment of the fire and clinical risks at Cardiff Royal infirmary, which had been shared with the director of the health department. These risks have driven the work to find alternative arrangements and for this reason I was keen that the public should see the full report. My decision announced on 20 October to agree in principle the authority's strategic plan clears the way to tackle the risks.
