§ Mr. GoodladThe situation in Burma remains of great concern. Together with our EU partners we suspended all non-humanitarian official aid in 1988 and imposed an arms embargo in 1991. We have made clear that normalisation of our relations will depend on progress in key areas, inclúding human rights and democratic reform.
