§ Mrs. Maddock
To ask the Secretary of State for Education what percentage of public appointments made by her Department were held by women at the most recent date for which figures are available.

§ Mr. Forth
In 1993, 27 per cent. of public appointments made by this Department were held by women. The 1994 figures are still being finalised and will be made available in due course.
