HC Deb 02 November 1994 vol 248 c1139W
Sir Wyn Roberts

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales when he intends to announce his decisions on recommendations for the revised national curriculum submitted to him by the Curriculum and Assessment Authority for Wales.

Mr. Richards

My right hon. Friend and I are grateful for the extensive work that the authority has undertaken on the shape of its proposals. The result is a slimmer curriculum which meets Welsh needs, offers teachers more time to use at their discretion and gives schools an excellent platform from which to continue the work of raising educational standards. Accordingly, my right hon. Friend has accepted the authority's recommendations for the new subject orders. Proof copies will be issued in November and will be placed in the Library of the House.
