How many assaults on prison staff involve weapons, giving figures for each of the past five years and a breakdown of the weapons used.

Lord Ferrers has asked me to reply to your recent Question asking how many assaults on prison staff involve weapons, giving figures for each of the past five years and a breakdown of the weapons used.

I regret that no information is available centrally regarding assaults involving weapons.
