§ Mr. Llew SmithTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what new information he has received to update paragraph 15.4 of the third-year report of "This Common Inheritance", Cm. 2549, concerning the progress made in commissioning the Sizewell B nuclear plant.
§ Mr. AtkinsHer Majesty's chief inspector of pollution and the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food are undertaking public consultation on whether the operation of Sizewell B is justified; that is, whether any detriment from the discharge of radioactive waste would be outweighed by the overall advantage. The consultation began on 19 May and is due to finish on 16 June.
