To ask the Secretary of State for Health what are her future plans for the ambulance service.

Mr. Sackville

National health service ambulance services are to be commended on the considerable advances they have made in recent years.

The Government will ensure that services maintain the excellent progress made towards meeting national standards for response times and towards the target of having a paramedic on each front-line ambulance.
