§ Mr. BowisThe Department, in conjunction with the mental health task force, is contributing £319,000 over three years to an initiative organised and administered by the Sainsbury centre for mental health. The centre will award grants of between £100,000 and £250,000 to between five and eight district health authorities to help them develop their mental health services. Initial awards will be announced this autumn. The selected projects will be evaluated and the results widely disseminated.
