HC Deb 18 May 1994 vol 243 cc515-6W
Ms Mowlam

To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) what assessment she has made of the effect of changes in NHS funding in respect of the voluntary sector, with particular reference to groups assisting those with HIV/AIDS;

(2) what asssessment she has made of the effect of changes in local authority funding on voluntary groups assisting those with HIV/AIDS.

Mr. Sackville

National health service funding for HIV and AIDS increased from £214 million in 1993–94 to £225 million in 1994–95, and local authority funding from £14.9 million to £15.4 million. Changes in allocating these funds came into effect only from 1 April. It is too soon to assess any effect that this may have on the voluntary sector.
