§ Mr. HanleyAs at 31 March 1994, the latest date for which figures are available, my Department owned 9,882 vacant married quarters and 105 vacant MOD civilian houses. In addition 1,431 vacant married quarters and 38 vacant MOD civilian houses were in the process of being sold. The majority of the vacant married quarters were either undergoing or awaiting major works or modernisation, held for unit deployments, or already allocated to service families who were due to move in shortly.
