To ask the President of the Board of Trade what is his latest estimate of the United Kingdom share of world trade.

The United Kingdom's share of world visible exports was 5.2 per cent. in 1992, the latest year for which data are available, making the United Kingdom the world's fifth largest exporter.

To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement on the implications of the GATT agreement signed at Marrakesh for British companies.

Mr. Sainsbury

British companies will benefit from higher world growth, the opening up of overseas markets, improved trade rules and a more stable international trading environment.
