§ Mr. Lennox-BoydWe have received no reports of a recent sit-in protest over the Narmada dam project. Responsibility for the project rests with the Indian authorities, who have re-affirmed their commitment to the satisfactory linkage between implementation of resettlement and rehabilitation and construction work on the dam. World bank funding of the project ceased when the Indian authorities asked it to cancel the balance of the loan in March 1993.
